Registering

ATTENTION: Due to the corona measures (COVID-19), the dates of the application and registration procedure have been adjusted. You will find the current information here.

You applied for a place between 2 and 31 March 2020 for the 1st grade A?

You will receive an e-mail or letter with all the registration details. Go to the school between 8 May and 3 June 2020 and register your child. No places? Collect the "place application unsuccessful" document (weigeringsdocument) from the school. If you collect a "place allocation unsuccessful" document, your child will be put on the school's waiting list and the school will contact you when a place does become available.

Registering in a school that does not operate an application procedure for the 1st grade A of B?

Go to the school between 11 May and 3 June 2020 and register your child. Schools without an application procedure for 1A and 1B cannot refuse to register a pupil for capacity reasons during this period.

Registering in a school for a higher grade?

Need to register your child in the 2nd grade of ASO (General Secondary Education), BSO (Vocational Secondary Education), KSO (Artistic Secondary Education) or TSO (Technical Secondary Education)? Or in a higher grade? Go to the school between 13 and 28 May 2020 and register your child. No places? Collect the "place application unsuccessful" document (weigeringsdocument) from the school. If you collect a "place allocation unsuccessful" document, your child will be put on the school's waiting list and the school will contact you when a place does become available.

Free registrations

Are there still places left in a certain school? In that case, everyone is entitled to register for the remaining places. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Every school will be hosting a registration day on 8 June for the 1st grade A and B and on 22 June for the higher grades. Afterwards, more registrations will be taken but the schools can then set their own dates. No places? Collect the "place application unsuccessful" document (weigeringsdocument) from the school.

I have a place in a school that was not my first choice.

E.g.: your child gets a place in a school you listed as option 3. Go to that school in the appointed period and register your child. Your child will automatically get an unfavourable ranking in its 1st and 2nd schools of choice. Next, you can collect a "place application unsuccessful" document from these schools. This will give your child a place on the schools’ waiting lists and the schools will contact you when a place does become available. What if you do not collect a "place application unsuccessful" document? If you fail to do so, your child's name will not be put on the waiting list and you will only be able to register your child during the open registration round at the end of May, provided there are any places left.
