9 - 27 January 2012
You can enrol your child at a school already attended by a brother or sister.
Between 8am on 1 February 2012 and 8pm on 29 February 2012
You should put your child’s name down at www.inschrijveninbrussel.be. It makes no difference when in February you do that. The more schools you select the more chance you have.
• NEW this year: If you feel you should be given priority, make sure you give all the necessary documents to the LOP within seven days.
Between 19 March and 27 April 2012
You will receive an email or a letter with all the information you need about enrolling your child. Go to the school to enrol your child in person. If you are unsuccessful, collect the refusal statement from the school.
Between 22 May and 31 August 2012
You can enrol your child at any school that still has a free place.
Who’s eligible?
Was your child born in 2010? Will your child be going to a new nursery or primary school next school year? If so, visit www.inschrijveninbrussel.be from 1 February 2012 to put your child’s name down. You have the whole of February to do so.
If your child will be starting year 1 at the school where he or she now goes to nursery, ask the school what to do. Some schools require you to enrol again.
If your child is entering special needs primary education next school year, you don’t need to put your child’s name down. You can enrol at the school immediately. In this case, please contact the school.
A few tips
- Put your child’s name down for at least five schools. That way, you have more chance of enrolling your child at a school of your choosing.
- Enrol all children born in 2010, even those who are not due to start school until 1 September 2013.
- Remember that enrolment is only possible during designated enrolment periods. No exceptions can be made.
- Answer all questions honestly! If you are found to have answered any questions dishonestly your child will be removed from the list and will not be able to enrol.

If you do not have internet access at home, you may be able to get online at family, friends or neighbours, or at a school, library ( ) or community centre ( ), say. There are also organisations that will help you put your child’s name down for a school in February 2012:
